FAQ
-
It’s very simple – follow the link below which will take you directly to the upload screen. Choose a name for your model, drag and drop your files, or click on the “upload” button to select your desired images and create your first model free of charge!
-
You can upload up to 2500 images for your first model free of charge! There are no limitations on the maximum number of images uploaded per model, and there are no limitations on the size of each image. The only thing you need to make sure of is uploading at least 10 images to start processing your model.
-
In order to create a successful 3D model, you need to keep some simple guidelines in mind. To help with that, we have created a special guide document for you. Please navigate to the “Guide” section in your One3D dashboard or follow the link below and navigate to section 3 for data collection recommendations, such as advised equipment, camera settings, capturing techniques, and more.
-
Depending on the quality of the input and the type of equipment used, the models usually range between a couple of millimeters to a couple of centimeters of accuracy. Most commercial drones, for example, are usually capable of achieving about 1cm to 2cm accuracy, and most up-to-date DSLR/Mirrorless cameras are capable of achieving sub-centimeter accuracy.
-
You can easily download your 3D model in multiple formats (e.g., OBJ, RCS) by hovering your mouse over the asset in your dashboard page, where download buttons will appear for your convenience.
-
You can find a set of different tools available in the top section of your 3D model view. A detailed guide on the specific functionalities and use of each tool can be found in the “Guide” section in your One3D dashboard or at the link below. Please navigate to section 2 of the document “Digital twin view”.

Capture as many as possible and keep in mind the best practices shared in our data capture guide: https://app.one3d.ai/public/One3D%20User%20Guide.pdf. The average number of images is around 500; however, the number may vary depending on the object you want to build. As a reference, for an object such as a house, 200-300 images are recommended, for a telecom tower - 600-800 images, and for an open pit mine - 3000-5000+ images.
-
In a nutshell, all drones with GPS and cameras are capable of capturing the photos for the 3D models. Recommended DJI drones include Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 3/Pro/Enterprise, Inspire 2 (with ZENMUSE X7, ZENMUSE X5S, or ZENMUSE X4S gimbal), Inspire 3, Matrice 300/RTK (Zenmuse P1 gimbal), Matrice 350, and Matrice 30. Suggested DSLRs are Sony APS-C cams (a6000/6300/6500), Sony A7/A7R III/IV, Canon Mark 3/4, and Nikon D3. When considering camera options, key features to prioritize include higher resolution, larger pixel size, lower crop factor, and superior low-light performance.
-
All models are usually processed within approximately 24 hours. The rule of thumb is 1h/100 images.
-
Our recommendation would be against data capture with a mobile phone; however, it is possible to do that. One3D is compatible with various camera types, including drones, mobile phones, compact digital cameras, DSLRs, fisheye lenses, photogrammetric cameras, and multi-camera systems.
-
It is possible, but keep in mind that using images from different sources and times can introduce additional challenges and may not always result in a seamless 3D model. Our recommendation would be taking the whole data set at one go (in one day).
